Union MoS interacts with players, cultural exponents

Imphal, Jun 10 ( DIPR ): Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Nisith Pramanik today interacted with eminent personalities of Manipur in the fields of sports, arts, culture and social service at Hotel Imphal.
During the interaction programme, awardees from various fields highlighted different points and sought the help of the Minister in opening a Sports Coaching Centre, implementation of Sports Policy and development of Manipuri dance, culture etc. The Union MoS told them that after introduction of Khello India initiative under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is targeting to set up 1000 Khello India centres by 2024.  So far the Government has set up 540 Khello India centres in the country. Now, the Government is planning to allocate adequate number of centres in Manipur as well, Nisith Pramanik said. The Minister told them that he would discuss with the concerned Ministers and Departments regarding the points raised by players and cultural exponents of the State.
Altogether 21 awardees in different fields attended the interaction programme including three awardees in Handloom & Textile category; three Sangeet Natak Academy awardees; three awardees in Social Welfare category; eight awardees in Sports  and three awardees from NYKS.
