Seminar on 'Implementation of National Education Policy 2020' kicks off

IMPHAL, Jun 13: A two day seminar on 'Implementation of National Education Policy (NEP), 2020' commenced today at the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy.
The seminar is being organised by Kangleipak Students Association (KSA) in association with  Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Manipur.
Delivering the keynote address, HRD secretary, KSA Head Office, H Bablu said that the theme of the seminar is 'Education Transform Lives' and it will be held in four sessions.
Emphasizing on the objective of the seminar, he said that the seminar is being organised to work earnestly to ensure that Manipur is at par with the changing education system in the country and to train and upskill the youths to meet the local needs and to make them eligible for future market requirements.
He also maintained that NEP 2020 is a reality and need based policy and the experts and resource persons should provide inputs on how to use the policy in the interest of the upcoming generation and to overcome any administration loopholes towards its implementation.
Further he sought for concerted efforts for the effective implementation of NEP, 2020 in Manipur for the welfare of the students.
Speaking at the occasion, KSA president Sukham Bidyananda expressed belief that with the implementation of  NEP 2020, the status of the education system in the country will become a progressive one and will attain new heights.
He stressed on the need to identify the provisions which are more important and to prioritize such provisions thereby finding ways to implement it successfully.
Many challenges might be faced during the course of implementation of the policy and measures should be taken up to overcome such challenges through critical analysis, he added.
Vice Chancellor of Manipur University, Professor N Lokendra stated that NEP 2020 is focused on a multi-disciplinary education system and will benefit the students to a large extent. The programme was also attended by Vice Chancellor, Manipur University of Culture, Professor Paonam Gunindro and Additional Director, Higher and Technical Education Manipur ,P Shantikumar as the presidium members.
