IMPHAL, Jun 13 : Defying many big States, Manipur finished overall fourth in the 4th Khelo India Youth Games  2021 with a total of 19 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals.
The last day of the games hosted by Haryana Government in Panchkula saw Manipur secure three medals in boxing courtesy Bishwamitra Chongtham, Laishangbam Rabichandra and Griviya Huidrom.
Bishwamitra  outpunched  Bilal of Telangana in the 51 kg final to clinch a gold as Himansu of Delhi, Kavi of Chandigarh settled for the bronze medals.
L Rabichandra won another gold to take the State's gold medal tally to 19 by beating Harsh representing Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu in the 60 kg category final. Vikas of Madhya Pradesh and Siddarth of Uttar Pradesh bagged bronze medals in this category.
Meanwhile Griviya Huidrom faltered in the women's 57 kg category final to Preeti of Haryana to settle for the silver medal. Anju of Rajasthan and Renu of Chandigarh who made it to the semi-finals grabbed the bronze medals in this category.
Earlier in the games, Thang-Ta team racked up a total of nine gold medals and two silver medals while the State Judo team added 4 gold and 3 bronze medals and emerged women's 1st runners up.
Athletes who bagged gold medals in Thang-Ta event include Laipubam Bishal Sharma (Phunaba Ama -56 kg), Dijen Shagolshem (Thang-Haiba), Moirangthem Arbin Meitei (Phunaba Ama -60 kg), Chandani Sunar (Thanglon and Khonglon-Khutlon), Khundongbam Priyangka Chanu (Phunaba Ama -56 kg), Longjam Sophia (Thang Haiba), Yumnam Pinky Devi (Phunaba Ama -52 kg), Konjengbam Thaja (Phunaba Anishuba -52 kg) and Mutum Thoisana Singh (Phunaba Anishuba -56 kg). Kolom Merina (Phunaba Anishuba -56 kg) and Abujam Lanchenba (Thanglon and Khonglon-Khutlon) also won Manipur a silver medal each.
Meanwhile, Irengbam Kalpana (-63 kg), K Bishal Singh (-66 kg), Huidrom Matouleibi (-52 kg) and Linthoi Chanambam (-57 kg) won judo gold medals as Ningthoujam Rohit (-50 kg), Mutum Roshibina (-44 kg) and Ningthoujam Sheetal Singh (-81 kg) bagged bronze medals.
Cyclist Khwairakpam Rahul also added Manipur three medals including two gold- one each in sprint and keirin events and a silver medal in the team sprint event along with Konthoujam Bishan and Salam Sanathoi Singh.
In the meantime, Martina Maibam won the +81 kg category gold medal in weightlifting as her Khaidem Anjali bagged a bronze medal in the 64 kg category competition.
In Greco-Roman wrestling, Yendrembam Victor bagged a bronze medal in the 65 kg category competition.
Huidrom Bhumeshwory also won Manipur a gold medal in the 1500 m race with a time of 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
