TRAU beat CRAU by 16 runs (DLS) for third straight victory

IMPHAL, Jun 13 : TRAU, Kwakeithel beat CRAU, Khamnam Bazar by 16 runs via DLS method in a rain-curtailed Group A league match of the ongoing 6th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament here at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.
TRAU won the toss and amassed 71 runs for 4 in 18 overs before rain interrupted the innings. The target was then revised to 96 runs via DLS method but CRAU bundled out for 79 in 18 overs to hand TRAU third win in the tournament.
In TRAU's innings, Rahul Raj Kumar (10) and Priyojit Kangabam (28) etched double digit scores as CRAU's Lamabam Ajay fetched two wickets (2/14 in 5 overs), and Mehtab Jamal (1/10) and Khumanthem Prakash (1/7 in 2 overs) claimed a wicket each.
In the chase, CRAU wickets kept falling in regular intervals from the beginning as TRAU bowlers put in a disciplined effort and eventually closed out the innings for 79 runs in allotted 18 overs.
TRAU's Puinachandra Sharma Anouba (2/13) and Priyojit Kangabam (2/19) collected two wickets each in this innings to heap pressure on CRAU while Dr Siddharth Shah and Bijenkumar Singh Nongmaithem picked a wicket apiece.
Priyojit Kangabam who topscored with 28 runs and snared two wickets, was adjudged man of the match.
MODEL, Singjamei Chingamathak will play FORCE, Kshetrigao in the next match tomorrow.
