The 8th International Day of Yoga was observed at Raj Bhavan in Imphal yesterday under the theme ‘Yoga for humanity’.
Governor La Ganesan practiced Yoga at the session held at the Durbar Hall along with the enthusiastic Raj Bhavan Secretariat staff and security personnel.
Speaking at the occasion, the Governor highlighted the various benefits of practicing Yoga daily.
He enumerated the benefits of breathing techniques and the regular practice of Yoga which helps in reducing stress, and tension thereby maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The Governor also appealed to all to inculcate the habit of practicing Yoga in the days to come.
The International Day was also celebrated by 86 Bn CRPF, Headquarters Lamphelpat as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav yesterday under the supervision of Mohd Yusuf, Commandant 86 Bn CRPF.
As per a press release by 86 Bn CRPF, Deeoak Kumar, Secon-in- command, Deputy Commandants Manoj Singh and Thonglenlal Haokip along with Manoj Singh, personnel of the unit, their family members and civilians participated in the programme.
