Tree saplings planted

BISHNUPUR, Jun 26 : In connection with the observance of World Environment Day, Senior Citizen For Society, Moirang has planted over 400 tree saplings today to combat the increasing damage inflicted on the environment that has wreaked havoc on the climate.
Speaking in connection with the tree sapling plantation initiative, Oinam Gouro, secretary of Senior Citizen For Society, Moirang said that the initiative had been conducted keeping in mind the deteriorating state of the environment.
He also urged the people to contribute in their own way to ensure an increase in the forest cover.
The team planted tree saplings in various places including Chingu Thangjing Laikon Moirang, Moirang palace, Ibudhou Sandhong Apanba Laikon Kumbi etc.
