Nepali Sahitya Parishad Manipur observes 40th foundation day

The 40th foundation day of Nepali Sahitya Parishad (NSP) Manipur was celebrated at Kanglatongbi community hall today.
The function was graced by Bhawani Adhikari, president NSP Manipur, Hari Nepal, president Manipur Gorkha Welfare Union and Dr Hari Krishna Siwakoti, advisor NSP Manipur as the presidium members, said a press release by NSP Manipur.
Floral tributes were paid to all the former NSP executive and members of NSP Manipur who have left for Heavenly abode and Nepali poets Hom Prasad Siwakoti, Deepak Pantha, Suraj Chapagain, Basanti Poudel and others read out their poems during the programme.
Dignitaries from different social organisations including All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union, Gorkha Welfare Union, Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh Manipur, executives, members and advisors of NSP Manipur also attended the celebration.
Speaking as the chief guest, Hari Nepal spoke on the development of Nepali language and stressed on the need of preserving one's language inorder to preserve the culture and identity.
Dr Hari Krishna Siwakoti while speaking at the occasion, stated that NSP Manipur would organise seminars on language and its development from time to time, added the release.
