Stage set for Lamlai Cup quarter finals

IMPHAL, Jun 4 : The quarter final line up of the Lamlai Cup 2022-23 9-a-side football tournament was completed today with the conclusion of the last 16-stage.
In the fourth quarter final match of the tournament, YDCL, Pungdongbam beat TYWO, Takhel 1-0 via Aphap goal in the 24th minute to book a quarter final berth.
In the next match, AYDC, Achanbigei edged out Sabungkhok 3-2 as Shankar scored twice (34', 40') and after Rohen scored the opener in the 2nd minute. W Chitaranjan (20') and Lansingam (21') on the other hand scored for the Sabungkhok side.
In the third match of the day, PUBG Angtha beat Pukao 3-2 via penalty shoot-out after a goalless draw in the regulation time.
Only Sridarth and Abung were able to score for the Pukhao side as Suraj, Binan and Premananda netted for the Angtha team.
In the 7th pre-quarter final match, Sekta FC-A and Uyumpok FC played out a goalless draw during regulation time but the Sekta team emerged victorious 4-2 on penalties as Johnson, Kh Shyamdas, S Bhim and Fayas scored against Uyumpok side whose only Dingku and Akaba found the target.
Elsewhere in the last pre-quarter final match, Nongren FC  sealed a 2-0 win over SPYC, Seijang. M Minaketan of SPYC fumbled and netted into his own in the 36th minute to give Nongren FC the lead before S Ajit fired home the decisive goal two minutes later.
