WAQF Board Manipur organises discussion on "Drug free Manipur"

Thoubal, Jun 6 : In continuation of War on Drugs 2.0, WAQF Board Manipur today organised a one day discussion programme on "Drug Free Manipur" at Madrasa Alia in Lilong.
The programme was attended by Lilong AC MLA and WAQF Board chairman, Alhaj Abdul Nasir; Jamiatul Ulama-E-Hind Manipur president, Moulana Sayeed Ahamed; and Anjuman coordinator, Moulana Muheiyuddin as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdil Nasir stressed on the importance of the State Government's War on Drugs initiative.
He stated that the success of the mission against drugs will help guide the youths towards a better path and bring peace in the state.
The MLA also assured to provide monetary assistance of Rs 1 lakh to support the fight against drugs carried out by the Ulamas.
The meeting also resolved to conduct meetings for the Masjid Committee, Emam, Moulana and Hafiz to take a stance against drugs and establish a Rehabilitation Centre in Lilong among others.
Later, a memorandum was also submitted to Chief Minister N Biren Singh .
