Manipur win 8 medals at National Powerlifting championships

IMPHAL, Jul 9 : Manipur athletes have amassed as many as 8 medals including four gold at the National Sub-Junior, Junior and Masters Equipped Powerlifting Championships being underway at Hyderabad.
Irom Indrani Devi won Manipur a gold medal in the 47 kg Master-2 lifting 50 kg in squat, 30 kg in bench press and 50 kg in deadlift (total 130 kg).
Meanwhile Yumlembam Dhyan Singh won a bronze medal in 83 Kg Master – 3 category with a total lift of 365 kg- 125 kg in lifted squat, 95 kg in bench press and 145 kg in deadlift.
Maharabam Anita Devi won a silver medal in the 69 kg Master-2 category with a total lift of 190 kg- 70 kg in lifted squat; 40 kg in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift
Ngangom Beda Devi participating in the 76 kg Master 2 also added a bronze medal to the State's tally by lifting 70 kg in lifted squat, 35 kg in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift.
Kh Chingkhuleima in the meantime won a gold medal in the 69 kg Master 4 event as she lifted 50 kg in squat, 30 kg in bench press and 70 kg in deadlift amassing a total of 150 kg.
Kangabam Manikhombi Devi won Manipur third gold medal in the 76 kg Master 3 category as she lifted 70 kg in lifted squat, 50 kg in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift racking up a total of 200 kg.
Takhelmayum Lena won the other gold medal in the above 80 kg Master 3 event with a total lift of 230 kg- 80 kg in lifted squat; 60 kg in bench press, 90 kg in deadlift.
Mutum Asharani Chanu on the other hand won Manipur's third bronze medal in the 84 kg Master 1 category with a total lift of 160 kg- 50 kg in lifted squat, 40 kg in bench press and 70 kg in deadlift.
