Guv, CM, others greet

IMPHAL, Jul 9 : Governor La Ganesan, Chief Minister N Biren and RD & PR Minister Y Khemchand conveyed their greetings to the people of Manipur, specially Muslim brethren on the occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha.
In his message, the Governor said that Id-Ul-Zuha, a "festival of sacrifice' signifies the spirit of sacrifice rising above the barrier of one's ego and self interest for the good of all.
He also said that the festival promotes tolerance, harmony and goodwill amongst  different communities.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh, in his greeting, stated that Id-Ul-Zuha is celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety across the world and it marks the end of Hajj, a pilgrimage to the holy site Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
"As we celebrate the festival with the joy of sharing and charity, let us resolve to strengthen brotherhood and harmony among different communities and bring peace and prosperity to our State," the Chief Minister said.
RD&PR Minister Y Khemchand also prayed for the festival to bring peace and tranquillity in the State.
Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCs), Manipur and BJP Minority Morcha, Imphal also extended their greetings to the people on the occasion.
