Takhelmayum Lena, Kh Chingkhuleima adjudged best lifters at Powerlifting Nationals

IMPHAL, Jul 10 : Takhelmayum Lena and Kh Chingkhuleima were adjudged best lifters in women's Master 3 and Master 4 categories at the Sub-Junior, Junior and Masters Equipped Powerlifting Championships which concluded today.
In the championships held at Hyderabad, Manipur Master  3 and Master 2 teams emerged champions as the Manipur team finished first runners up in best dress and discipline section.
It may be noted that Manipur clinched 8 medals including four gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals at the championship.
State athletes who won gold medals for Manipur at the championships are Irom Indrani, Kh Chingkhuleima, Kangabam Manikhombi Devi and Takhelmayum Lena.
Irom Indrani Devi won the gold medal in the 47 kg Master-2 category with a total lift of 130 kg (50 kg in lifted squat, 30 kg in bench press and 50 kg in deadlift) as Kh Chingkhuleima won her gold medal in the 69 kg Master 4 event with  a total of 150 kg (50 kg in lifted squat, 30 kg in bench press and 70 kg in deadlift).
Kangabam Manikhombi Devi in the meantime emerged first to win a gold medal in the 76 kg Master 3 category as she lifted 70 kg in lifted squat, 50 kg in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift to rack up a total of 200 kg while  Takhelmayum Lena clinched the fourth gold medal in the above 80 kg Master 3 event with a total lift of 230 kg (80 kg in lifted squat; 60 kg in bench press, 90 kg in deadlift).
The lone silver medallist for Manipur was Maharabam Anita Devi (69 kg Master-2 category : 70 kg in lifted squat; 40 kg in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift events.
Yumlembam Dhyan (83 Kg Master – 3 category; 125 kg in lifted squat, 95 kg in bench press and 145 kg in deadlift); Ngangom Beda Devi (76 kg Master 2 : 70 kg in lifted squat, 35 kg in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift) and Mutum Asharani Chanu (84 kg Master 1 category: 50 kg in lifted squat, 40 kg in bench press and 70 kg in deadlift) in the meantime won Manipur bronze medals at the said championships.
