Meet of descendants of war heroes of Anglo-Manipuri War, 1891 organised

IMPHAL, Jul 14: A Meet of Descendants of War Heroes of Anglo-Manipuri War, 1891 was held at Manipur Press Club today.
The meet was jointly organised by Martyrs, Freedom Fighters Family Members & Trust Bodies and Justice Committee on Anglo- Manipuri War 1891 Martyrs and Freedom Fighters Kangleipak (Manipur).
Speaking on the occasion, Yumnamcha Dillipkumar, chairman of the Justice Committee said that an earnest appeal will be made to the authorities concerned to erect statues of the valiant martyrs and fighters of Anglo- Manipuri War 1891 at a suitable place.
Elaborating on the objectives of the Justice Committee, he said that the committee was formed to identify and trace the roots of the brave warriors of Anglo- Manipuri War 1891 apart from Paona Brajabashi, Thangal General and Bir Tikendrajit.
As per the research conducted by the Justice Committee, he said that it has been able to trace the identity of 50 warriors of the Anglo-Manipuri War.
He also expressed the desire to include the remarkable contributions of these warriors in the syllabus of schools, colleges and universities to enlighten the young students.
The event was also attended by Justice Committee's Chief Consultant H Ibotombi Khuman, Kanglamei President, Y Leirikleima and Ima Lup president, RK Sanahanbi among others.
