IMPHAL, Jul 16 : The Central Government has recognised the dental degree awarded by Manipur University for BDS students of Dental College, JNIMS.
The recognition came after the Central Government representatives consulted with the Dental Council of India. The NDA Government under the Prime Ministership of Narendra Modi made the necessary amendments to the Dentist Act, 1948, and gave recognition of the Dental Degree awarded by Manipur University for BDS students of Dental College, JNIMS.
Now the students of Dental College -JNIMS are eligible to practice anywhere in India and can appear for NEET Post Graduate Examination. Students from other Dental Colleges in India are also eligible to do internship in Dental College, JNIMS, said Teachers' Welfare Committee Dental College, JNIMS in a statement.
The committee thanked Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary to Chief Minister and JNIMS Director, Medical Superintendent and all faculty members of JNIMS.
On the recognition N Biren Singh took to social media and extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his Facebook post uploaded two days back, N Biren said " In one the biggest news, the Central Government after consultation with the Dental Council of India has made the necessary amendments in the the Dentist Act, 1948 and recognised the Dental Degree awarded by Manipur University for BDS students of Dental College, JNIMS. Immensely thankful to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji for always being so considerate about the needs of the people of Manipur."
