Festival of Narrative Art Form in Manipur begins

IMPHAL, Jul 16 : The Festival of Narrative Art Form in Manipur was kicked off today as a part of the ongoing one-month training on 28th Moirang Parva jointly organised by Manipur State Sumang Leela Council and Theatre Mirror Imphal today at Iboyaima Sumang Leela Shanglen.
The fourth day of the month-long training program and launching of the Festival of Narrative Art Form in Manipur was attended by P Bilash, Director, JN Manipur Dance Academy as the chief guest and M Purnimashi Leima, president Manipur Dance Academy as the president of the function.
Speaking on the occasion, P Bilash urged trainees to absorb the knowledge imparted by the teachers.
He also made an appeal to protect the identity of these art forms so that they may not be distorted in any way.
Stressing against distortion of Manipuri art forms, Padmashri Naba Wareppa stated that facets of Manipuri culture are depicted in Pena Phamsak and Khongjom Parva.
He added that the festival had been organised with the intent of showing these art forms without any distortions in its true form to young emerging artistes.
