Workshop on 'Khongjom Parva' concludes

IMPHAL, Jul 17: The  valedictory function of 10-day workshop cum production of 'Khongjom Parva' was held at the multipurpose hall of Eastern Students' Club, Nongmeibung today.
The 10-day workshop cum production of 'Khongjom Parva' was organised by Kanglei Sheishaklon Shindamshang (KSS) under the aegis of Sangeet Natak Akademi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, New Delhi. The valedictory function was graced by Laimayum Devendrajit Sharma, Manipur State Kala Akademi Awardee and former principal of SSBD, Government Music College, Imphal, Khumanthem Sundari Devi, Manipur State Kala Akademi awardee and president of Kanglei Sheishaklon Shindamshang and Dr Manju Elangbam, Assistant Professor, Manipur University of Culture and Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardee as the presidium members.
Speaking as the chief guest, Laimayum Devendrajit Sharma expressed contentment that the workshop has been conducted successfully to promote the indigenous art form, 'Khongjom Parva'.
During the workshop Renowned teachers and experts in the field imparted training and enlightened the participants about Khongjom Parva in detail, he added.
He also appealed to all to work collectively to promote the indigenous artform which is of great historical and traditional importance.
