LS Trophy: TYPOM Maohing, Manipur Terrier Imphal win

KANGPOKPI, Aug 26: South Changoubung Youth Club tied with Kuki Football Academy while TYPOM Maohing and Manipur Terrier Imphal won their respective matches today in the ongoing Len and Sang Trophy at Brig M Thomas Ground Kangpokpi.
In the first match, South Changoubung Youth Club managed to hold Sadar Hills 1st Division District Football League champion, Kuki Football Academy to a 1-1 draw in its campaign in the tournament in a group D encounter.
KFA managed to lead the game after Obed's brilliant strike in the 47th minute but South Changoubung Youth Club had a better comeback in the second half to find an equalizer through Seilenlal in the 60th minute.
In the group B encounter, TYPOM Maohing had a narrow 1-0 win over Kangpokpi Youth Union in the second match to open its winning account in the tournament. The winning goal was scored by Khaimang in the 17th minute.
In a rescheduled fixture after a team from group B would not be participating any more in the tournament, the third match was played between Taphou Football Club and Manipur Terrier Imphal from Group C.
Manipur Terrier Imphal managed to easily edge past Taphou Football Club 3-1 to open a winning account in their campaign in the tournament.
Th Premchand (13', 55'), and RN Ngatangmi (53') scored for Manipur Terrier Imphal while Manggunhao pulled back a goal in the 21st minute for the Taphou side.
Tomorrow, Golngai Football Club will play Saikotjang Youth Club in the first match while Hintwi Football Club clashes with Twilang Area Sporting Association in the second match, and Football Club Gorkha 11 Manipur will take on South Changoubung Youth Club in the third match.
