PLA cadres remanded

IMPHAL, Sep 9: The Judicial Magistrate First Class, Imphal East today remanded five cadres of the proscribed PLA to police custody for eight days till September 18 for their alleged involvement in the killing of a non-local mobile grocery supplier at Ucholchingjin along Ngariyan- Andro road on June 8 at around 4 pm.
They have been identified as Konjengbam Romio alias Nongthon (28) s/o Raghu of Moirang Konjengbam Leikai, presently staying at Awang Sekmai Koujengleima Thanga Leikai, Phanjoubam Rabi alias Nanao (26) s/o Kula of Andro Labaochum Ching Leikai, Salam Mangijao (55) s/o (Late) Tombi of Kakching Wairi Salam Leikai, Naorem Manoj alias Pengsiba (23) s/o Nobin of Luker Mayai Leikai and Samuraillakpam Akash alias Muston (19) s/o Rajeswor of Kakching Wairi Saban Bamon Leikai.
They were produced before the Court by a team of Andro police station after taking due permission from a Thoubal Court where they were produced earlier in connection with another FIR case registered at Khongjom police station.
The Court, on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO, remanded the accused persons to police custody till September 16.
