IMPHAL, Sep 11: Residents of Langthabal Kunja Awang Leikai have appealed to the relevant authorities to ensure an end to instances of bomb attack that have allegedly occurred at the shack for labourers set up in the same locality.
It may be noted that the labourers are working on expansion of the Singjamei to Lilong stretch of the Imphal-Moreh road.
Arambam Radharani, meira paibi, made the appeal during a press conference held at Langthabal Kunja Awang Leikai jointly organised by the local clubs and meira paibis of the area.
She shared that last night around 8 pm a bomb that been planted on a vehicle parked right next to the aforementioned shack located opposite Little Rose Higher Secondary School went off.
Condemning the bomb attack on behalf of the residents, she added that due to the placement of the bomb beneath the vehicle, the damage was minimal. However, she expressed fear for what could have happened if this had not been the case.
She also shared a previous instance where a bomb attack had allegedly occurred at the shack.
As such, she made an appeal to the responsible party to put an end to such unfortunate acts that create an atmosphere of fear and could threaten the lives of the locals in the area.
Instead of resorting to bomb attacks, she called upon the responsible party to take up their potential grievances with the authorities concerned.
She also urged the relevant authority to provide security to the area in question to prevent the occurrence of similar incidents in the future.
