3rd Kakching World War II Memorial Run see healthy participation

Kakching, Sep 11: The third edition of Kakching World War II Memorial Run was successfully organised today with a healthy participation of more than 2000 runners in different events (distance) for different age categories.
The historic event organised by Kakching Runners as a part of its continuous effort to help usher in a healthy society and pollution free environment, was formally flagged off from Khunjampat Ground, Kakching Wairi in the presence of Kakching AC MLA M Rameshwar and former world boxing champion Laishram Sarita.
Lr Luther (male) and Tayenjam Russia (female) sealed top honours in the 21 km run for the 18 to 35 years age group as NP Singh (male) and Ranjana (female) topped in the 36 to 45 years competition.
In the women's 21 km run 18 to 35 years Tayenjam Russia clocked 1:35:54 to win the top honour while Makakmayum Minarashi (1:36:36) and Lily (1:37:59) settled for the second and third places respectively. In the women's 36 to 45 years category competition Sunita finished second.
In the men's 18 to 35 years category Lr Luther from Assam took 1:09:25 to seal the top honour as Rajeev (1:09:28) and Manoubi (1:10:28) stood first, second and third positions respectively.  
In the men's 36 to 45 years category, NP Singh (1:16:14), Tlanding (1:17:24) and Sahadat  (1:23:13). In the men's 46 to 55 years category, Rudreswor (1:26:09), Bimol Chandra Das (1:32:43) and Bikhyat (1:36:21) sealed the top three spots as Paresh Chandra (1:44:10), Shyam (2:00:43) and Nimai Singh (2:07:40) managed to finish first, second and third in the men's 56 to 99 years category.
Notably, more than 1000 runners took part in the 10 km fun run and felt the happiness of running together for a good cause.
