Held with drugs

IMPHAL, Sep 13: A team of Imphal East commandos arrested 35 years old Meinam Abul Kalam along with a large quantity of banned drug items yesterday afternoon from Khabeisoi Sabal Leikai under Heingang police station.
Acting on specific information about illegal drugs being stored in the house of Meinam Abul Kalam (35) s/o Abdul Salam of Kwakta Pangal Lamkhai, presently staying at Khabeisoi Sabal Leikai, a team of Imphal East commandos rushed to the house.
The police team frisked Meinam Abdul Kalam and searched his belongings at his house in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses.
During the search, the police team recovered and seized 38,016 Span PRX tablets, 15,840 Semplx tablets, 3000 Netaks tablet and 79 Codeine cough syrup bottles from the toilet of the accused at around 3.30 pm yesterday
Meinam Abdul Kalam was accordingly arrested at 3.50 pm following due formalities of ND&PS Act
The arrested person and the seized narcotic items had been handed over to Heingang police station, sources informed.
