Thang-Ta Loisang observes 6th foundation day

The 6th foundation day celebration of Thang-Ta Loisang, Sana Konung was held at Palace Compound Youth Welfare Club community hall today.
The foundation day celebration was graced by Y Meiraba, Nongthomba of Sana Konung; The Ibohalbi, Thouburel, Thang-Ta Loisang and Y Babu, Thangsuhanba, Sana Konung as the presidium members, said a press release by Thang-Ta Loisang, Sana Konung.
Presenting the keynote address, Chungkham Sunilkumar, Secretary, Thang-Ta Loisang said that Thang-Ta Loisang, Sana Konung was established with the objective of safeguarding the dying artform of Thang-Ta after consulting with the Thang-Ta teachers and under the aegis of the titular king of Manipur.
He continued that ever since its inception, the organisation has been working earnestly to gather every possible knowledge in connection with Thang-Ta and impart the same to the masses.
Planning are underway to form Thang-Ta Naha Lup to teach about this unique art form in different localities and villages across the State, he added.
