KANGPOKPI, Sep 19: AMFA Cup team Kuki Sporting Club (KSC) will lock horns with MSL team Sagolband United for the Len and Sang Trophy title tomorrow at Brig M Thomas ground Kangpokpi district headquarters.
A narrow 1-0 win over Churachandpur's Symropia Football Club in today's first semifinal match earned KSC the final berth while Sagolband United defeated Twilang Area Sporting Association (TASA) 2-1 to complete the final line up.
KSC's lone goal of the game was scored by Lunminthang in the 75th minute.
Later in the action-packed second semifinal match between TASA and Sagolband United, Bhagirath was quick enough to find opener early in the 2nd minute which was followed by multiple on-target shots giving intense pressure on the local club with former ISL player Subhash playing the playmaker for Sagolband United.
In the last few minutes of the second half, Subhash found the second goal for the MSL team in the 87th minute before TASA managed to pull back a goal through Peter Minthang in the 88th minute.
With not much time left to play, TASA struggled to find the equalizer but their efforts went in vain and eventually SU set up a final date with KSC.
The closing ceremony of the month-long mega football tournament will begin at 12 pm tomorrow.
