Kh Joykisan assures free and fair investigation on IMC fund misappropriation case

IMPHAL, Sep 24: Thangmeiband AC MLA, Kh Joykisan has clarified there is no intention to suppress the 'fund misappropriation issue of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC)' where a contractor has misappropriated the funds of IMC.
While speaking to media persons during a press meet held today at his residence at Khuyathong, Kh Joykisan maintained that though he has joined BJP, there is no provision to silence or suppress the wrongdoings of IMC specially the fund misappropriation issue and gave assurance of a free and fair investigation.
He informed that measures are being taken up to retract money from the contractor who has swindled the funds.
With regards to the issue, one corporator has been sent to jail and four IMC engineers have been terminated while one has been suspended, he added.
The MLA went on to state that a special team of engineers is investigating the matter and as per their report, all the perpetrators involved will be awarded befitting punishment as per law.
