LNKR, LPNR appeal

The Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR) and Liangmai Pui Naga Ruangdi (LPNR) have appealed to all Human Rights Agencies, NGOs, Human Right Activists, Civil Societies and right thinking persons to raised their voice in unison to get justice and put an end to gun culture.
In a joint statement issued today, LNKR and LPNR sought justice for Ab Kaidihemang who has been bedridden due to a gunshot wound inflicted when a personnel of Manipur Police Commando fired his weapon on June 13, 2010.
"Ab Kaidihemang, s/o Nampuilungbou Abonmai has been bedridden since the incident and has not received any monetary compensation nor has the promise of job for next kin by the State been fulfilled", it added.
"IGP (Adm) IK Muivah had already sent his approval for compensation to Ab Kaidihemang to the Joint Secretary (Home) and recommended appointment of Lungkhangwibou Abonmai (younger brother of the victim) to the Chairman of DPC for direct recruitment of rifleman 10th and 11th IRB", it added.
LNKR and LPNR further demanded that the commando personnel involved in the incident be permanently dismissed from his service and due punishment under the law be given at the earliest.
