Locals oppose construction of COB camp at B Bongjang

TENGNOUPAL, Sep 24 : The people of B Bongjang village have expressed their opposition to the proposed construction of a COB camp by 5 Assam Rifles in the area between Indo Myanmar Border Pillar Number 80 and 81 without their consent.
Speaking to media persons, Ngamshon Baite, chief of B Bongjang village condemned the attempt of Assam Rifles to construct the camp in the village without any prior information or consent of the village.
Alleging that the presence of Assam Rifles may cause unwanted incidents, Ngamshon Baite stated that no Assam Rifles camp can be constructed in the village.
Ngamshon Baite further stated that the villagers are not opposed to Assam Rifles personnel carrying out their routine patrol or staying in the village for 2/3 days after giving prior information to the village chief.
