Single digit spike continues

IMPHAL, Sep 2 : The number  of active Covid cases in Manipur has fallen to 64 as only seven persons from four districts tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours while testing 422 samples.
Yesterday too, the daily Covid count was in single digit as only eight persons tested positive for the contagion.
The seven fresh cases were confirmed at JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (6) and are residents of Imphal East (2), Imphal West (2), Churachandpur (1).
The death toll remains unchanged at 2147.
As per  an update from the Covid Common Control Room, the number of recovered cases has mounted to 1,35,513 as 10 more persons were discharged from Home Isolation (4), JNIMS (2) and Discharge (4).
The recovery rate stands at 98.42 per cent.
Yesterday, the State distributed a total of 122 D-type and 4 B-type oxygen cylinders to different health care facilities and administered 2851 Covid vaccine doses.
 In terms of Covid beds availability, altogether 91 beds are vacant at RIMS (58) and JNIMS (33).
Till yesterday, 54.48 per cent of the eligible population in Manipur were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 while another 62.34 per cent have taken the first dose.
