AMCO appeals

KAKCHING, Sep 6 : In view of the unfortunate incident of August 27 wherein a Christian family was allegedly threatened for practicing their Christian faith, All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) has appealed to the people of Manipur to abide by the principle of mutual respect for one another.
According to a statement issued by Rev L Simon Raomai, president, AMCO, the unfortunate incident allegedly occurred at Sarik Konjil, Arong Nongmaikhong, Kakching district.
AMCO added that the situation was defused with the intervention of the district law enforcement agency and good sense prevailed as the locals resolved to allow the family to exercise their fundamental right to practice their Christian faith.
Further, AMCO expressed gratitude towards the district law enforcement agency while adding that the goodwill of the local inhabitants is a demonstration of the values of tolerance enshrined in the Constitution.
