IMPHAL, Sep 7: Chakpa Pheiyeng Integrated Farmer Club has alleged that the members of the club 'have not received a single bag of urea from the authorities concerned till date'.
Coordinator of the Club, Angom Budichandra has stated that the members of Chakpa Pheiyeng Integrated Farmer Club  have been deprived of urea though repeated appeals have been made to the authorities and department to provide urea to the farmers. It may be noted that the club has 160 farmers as members and is an apex farmers' body supported by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Imphal West and is sponsored by NABARD. Budichandra also raised question why these farmers have not been provided urea which is essential for the harvesting season though all the necessary documents have been submitted to the Agriculture Department for the same.
He also expressed discontent that the Agriculture Minister and the department concerned have been ignoring the plight  of the farmers due to non-availability of urea.
