Four more test positive

IMPHAL, Sep 8 : At least four persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours while testing 298 samples and registered a test positivity rate of 1.3 per cent.
The four cases were confirmed at RIMS (2) and Churachandpur (2) and are residents of Imphal West (3) and Churachandpur (1).
No Covid deaths were reported in the period and as such the death toll remains unchanged at 2148.
As per an updated bulletin issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room, altogether 17 persons were discharged after surveillance today. The number recovered cases has mounted to 1,37,567 with a recovery rate of 98.44 per cent.
With this update, the number of active Covid cases in the State has reduced  to 37, all from the general population.
So far, Covid has infected 1,39,752 people (including 5020 Central security personnel) in different waves of the pandemic since its onset in March 2020.
Of the total 100 Covid beds at RIMS (62) and JNIMS (38), only two are occupied at JNIMS.
Yesterday, the State Government distributed 92 D-type cylinders to different health care facilities in Manipur and in the same period 3096 Covid vaccine doses were administered.
In terms of Covid vaccination, at least 54.57 per cent of the eligible population in Manipur have taken the second dose of the vaccine while 62.36 per cent are partially vaccinated against the contagion.
