Former VC of MU appointed National president of IEA

Professor Adya Prasad Pandey, former Vice-Chancellor of Manipur Central University has been appointed as the National President of Indian Economic Association (IEA).
His name was unanimously recommended by the executive body of IEA and thereafter by the general body of IEA on the basis of his excellent performance as president of IEA, a statement has shared.
Reportedly, IEA usually selects reputed and noted economists for this post, such as Dr Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister and RBI Governor; Professor Ahluwalia, former Vice Chairman, Planning Commission; Professor VKRV Rao, Dr Amartya Sen, Nobel laureate, noted economist Dr JK Mehta and so on.
Many economists, vice-chancellors and intellectuals extended their congratulations to Professor Adya Prasad Pandey for this achievement.
