DIMAPUR, Jan 29: NSCN (IM) periodical bulletin, 'Nagalim Voice' has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must first respect his own commitment to the Framework Agreement to pave the way for peace and development.
It also said that nothing is more sacred to the "NSCN than defending Naga National principles and identity".
In its latest edition released today, the NSCN (IM)'s bulletin said that Nagas are today at the crossroads to check if they can withstand the pressure "that has been mounted" under the enticing slogan “Modi for peace and development”.
It added, "But for the Nagas, Modi must first respect his own commitment to the Framework Agreement to pave the way for peace and development".
According to the NSCN (IM)'s bulletin, the historic Framework Agreement was worked out seven years ago with the Government of India based on the 'Naga unique history and Naga National principle.'
"Last year when the Indo-Naga political talks were going through a rough patch, an "emergency National assembly" was convened at general headquarters of the Naga army whereby a decision was taken to uphold and protect Naga unique history and Naga National principle and to stand by the sanctity of the Framework Agreement," it added.
The bulletin then said that the signing of the agreement signifies that the sovereignty of the Nagas is acknowledged in conjunction with the Naga National Flag and the Constitution.
Saying that NSCN will stand the ground to defend their  historical and political rights, the bulletin  maintained that a line needs to be drawn to identify what is sacrosanct, what is negotiable and what is not negotiable to avoid messing up the Naga political issue.
