Book on Wild Edible Fungi released

IMPHAL, Jan 28 : A book titled “Wild Edible Fleshy Fungi of Indo-Myanmar Hot Spot Region” with Professor Nameirakpam Irabanta Singh as one of co-authors was released at Manipur University today.
The book release function was held at the Committee Room of the Vice Chancellor of Manipur University.
Published by Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany, the book is co-authored by Professor N Irabanta Singh, Dr Th Chitaranjan Singh, Dr Nevidita Lairenlakpam and Dr M Babita Devi.
The book, “Wild Edible Fleshy Fungi of Indo-Myanmar Hot Spot Region-Value Addition to Selected Genera for Food & Sustainable Health & Artificial Cultivation for Socio-Economic Development” is based on research works of the authors.
Manipur University Vice Chancellor Professor N Lokendra, Dean of School of Life Sciences Professor R Varatharajan, Head in-charge Department of Botany Dr Kananbala Sarangthem and Dean of School of Humanities Professor P Nabachandra attended the book release function as chief guest, guest of honour, president and special guest respectively.
MU Botany Professor RR Pandey, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Arungabad’s Environmental Science Department’s former Head Professor BN Pande and ICAR NE Region former Director Dr SV Ngachan spoke and gave detailed reviews of the book.
Some of Professor N Irabanta’s other works/books include Endemic Bioresources of India, Microbial Resources of Indo-Myanmar (Burma) Hot Spot Region, Parthenium Menace in the Indo-Myanmar Hotspot Region, Reminiscence of Coming and Remembering Return Journeys and Aeromycology over Kachai Lemon Plantation in Eastern Himalayan Region.
