THOUBAL, Oct 16: A faculty development programme on 'Python Programming' kicked off today at Waikhom Mani Girls' College, Thoubal Okram today.
The faculty development programme is jointly organised by the Department of Mathematics, Waikhom Mani Girls' College and Thoubal College in association with NIELIT, Akampat under the sponsorship of the Directorate of University and Higher Education, Government of Manipur.
Two teachers each from different colleges in the State are participating in the 10-day faculty development programme.
The inaugural programme was graced by the Director, Directorate of University and Higher Education, Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, IAS; Waikhom Mani Girls' College Principal, Professor H Manoranjan Sharma and NIELIT Akampat Instructor Khumanthem Jenny Devi as the presidium members.
The faculty development programme has been conducted with an aim to sensitize the college teachers about 'Python Programming' which has been inducted in the Mathematics SEC syllabus as per National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Rangitabali Waikhom maintained that the teachers play a vital role in guiding the students towards the right path and constantly motivates the students to strive for a progressive and a stable future.
She appealed to all the teachers to continuously work on finding more innovative ways of teaching for the welfare of the students.
She also expressed the need of conducting more faculty development programmes.
