94th Mera Thabum Meephamlen observed

THOUBAL, Oct 28 : Ahan Taranithoi Apokpa Marup, Haunasang, Laishram Khun, Hailakandi (Assam) in collaboration with Apokpa Marup Thoubal Branch observed the 94th Mera Thabum Meephamlen at Thoubal Ningombam Mamang Leikai Community Hall today.
The event witnessed the worship of ancestral deity Ipuroi Apokpa and the presentation of worship songs.
Many notable personalities such as Okram Landhoni, former MLA Khangabok AC; Yangambam Sharat Meetei, Commander, East H/Q No 1, Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) Manipur; Huirem Chourajit Meetei, Commander, East H/Q No 5, UFO; Mutum Gouramohon Meetei, Maibaren, Ahan Taranithoi; Mayanglambam Kunjabihari Meetei, president,  Thawaigi Marup-Punshigi Marup; Hijam Jamuna, Councillor, TMC Ward No 10  and Okram Inaotombi, Councillor, TMC Ward No 1 attended as presidium members.              The event was accompanied by the unfurling of the flag and collective offering of prayers. Floral tributes were also offered on the sacred seat of Ipuroi Apokpa while many experts spoke at length about the indigenous culture, traditions and customs of the Meiteis.
Apokpa Marup Thoubal Branch, Thouburel, Laishram Nongyai was also present on the occasion.
