DC Chandel 1st Division Tournament begins

IMPHAL, Nov 11 : The DC Chandel Trophy 1st Division Tournament 2023-24 organised by DSA Chandel kicked off today at Sports Complex, Chandel Christian.
The opening match (Group A) of the 8-team tournament saw Chandel Khulle beat Lambung YC 2-0 thanks to goals coming from Lominkhup Aimol (57') and Leopa (90'+2').
In the second match of the tournament (Group B), Sulam Area Sporting Association (SASA) edged past Riverlane YC 2-1 courtesy of a second half brace from Sh Anthony (65', 90+2').
Riverlane YC had enjoyed a 1-0 first half lead with HL Angjoyhring scoring in the 17th minute.
Two top teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
The next matches (Khongjon YC vs YSC-Thamlapokpi; Liwa Khullen YC vs Liwa Sarei YC) are scheduled on November 13.
