National Games silver medallist M Samson feted

IMPHAL, Nov 12 : Moirangthem Samson who won Manipur a Wushu silver medal at the recently concluded 37th National Games was felicitated today by SEVA Club and Bishnupur District Wushu Association at Moirangkhunou Mayai Leikai.
Samson, who is a National Championship gold medallist, won the silver medal in the men's 48 kg sanda competition at the National Games hosted by Goa from October 26 to November 9.
Samson who hails from Moirangkhunou Mayai Leikaiand his childhood coach and international championship medallist M Ronel were encouraged during the programme which was attended by M Asnikumar, Chairman Loktak Development Authority; W Shobha, president Bishnupur District Wushu Association; M Biramani, founder general secretary Wushu Association of Manipur ; H Khamba, secretary SEVA Club and others as dignitaries. After receiving basic coaching from Moirangthem Ronel Samson trains at SAI Takyel under coaches Birahari, Ashalata, Premkumar and Sumit since 2016.
The dignitaries not only congratulated the player over his achievement but also extended best wishes to perform well in future events.
