Cdl 1st Divn Tourney : Khongjon YC, Liwa Khullen YC triumph

IMPHAL, Nov 13 : Khongjon YC and Liwa Khullen YC registered wins in today's league matches of the DC Chandel 1st Division Tournament being organised by the DSA Chandel at Sports Complex, Chandel.
In the third match of the tournament (Pool B), Khongjon YC scored a goal each side of the break to seal a 2-0 win over YSC-Thamlapokpi. Roel Mogarson gave Khongjon YC a 1-0 first half lead with a 35th minute strike before Roel Kophaden hit the decisive goal in the 75th minute.
Meanwhile in a Pool A match staged later, Liwa Khullen YC posted a comfortable 4-1 win over Liwa Sarei YC. Liwa Khullen YC started slowly and went into the break with a 1-0 lead courtesy of a goal from R Kowarngam in the 27th minute. Ng Hringkshavan then extended Liwa Khullen YC's lead to 2-0 in the 65th minute before Joyngam made it 3-0 with a clinical finish next month.
Ngachonmi pulled back a goal for Liwa Sarei YC in the 71st minute but R Boniface restored Liwa Khullen's 3 goal cushion in the 89th minute and eventually earned his team a 4-1 win.
Tomorrow, Lambung YCC will play Anal Khunou YC in a Pool A match before Japhou YC face Riverlane YC in a Pool B encounter.
