Ex-servicemen extend aid

A group of Ex-Servicemen of Moirang and Bishnupur with members of the Wings of Hope Charitable Trust donated two sets of 'Yongkham' (wooden loom) and candle making materials at the relief camps opened at Sunu Siphai and Tera Khongsangbi.
The above items have been presented to start the mission 'To support and provide alternative means of livelihood to few mothers and sisters in relief camps', said a press note by Lt Col L Manongba (Indian Army veteran) of the Wings of Hope.
It is expected that the pilot project will be able to help the  displaced women in relief camps to engage in useful activities and the Wings of Hope Charitable Trust will be providing material support, marketing and sales of the handloom products within and outside the State and the financial benefits accumulated shall be passed on to these displaced women.
The charitable trust has been formed with a mission to provide support for continuous education till Class XII or graduation and to provide support for alternative means of livelihood to internally displaced people (IDPs) .
