Training programme concludes

IMPHAL, Nov 14: Handloom and Textiles Joint Director E Jiten has urged people to focus on handloom and handicraft research in order to improve the economy of the State.
The Joint Director made the remark during the closing ceremony of the 50 Days Training Programme of Human Resource Bank, 2023 held at Handloom and Handicraft Design Extension Centre, Porompat.
Speaking as the chief guest, E Jiten underscored the high demand for Manipur handloom and handicraft products outside the State. Saying that currently, the production is not enough to meet the demand, he stressed on the need to increase the number of skilled workers and manpower in order to meet this demand for handloom and handicraft items of the State.
Altogether 34 trainees participated in the programme.
The closing ceremony was also graced by Th Sundari, Assistant Director, Handloom and Handicraft Design Extension Centre, Porompat as the guest of honour and Th Basanta Singh, General Manager, Manipur handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation Limited as the functional president.
