IMPHAL, Nov 14 : Joychandra enjoyed a five wicket haul to set up YAC-Yaiskul a 3 wicket win over MPA-Thounaojam today in the ongoing 8th MNCA Plate Tournament at Lairenjam Public Ground.
YAC won the toss and chose wisely to field first. With Joychandra (5/35 in 5.5 overs) leading the bowling attack and significant contributions from Abocha (2/23) and John (2/8), MPA were all out for 102 runs within 22.5 overs.
Kishan 19, Joychandra 16, Reebanta 9* and Chumthao 9* and some extras then fired YAC to winning 103 for 7 in 26.5 overs.
Priyokumar, Raneshwor and Albish all claimed two wickets each in this innings.
Joychandra who enjoyed a fifer was named man of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, Chourajeet picked four wickets and Karamchand blazed off a 68-ball 83 to hand NCA-Ningthoukhong a 3 wicket win over YWC-Patsoi.
YWC-P opted to bat first but were bundled out for 199 runs in 37.5 despite Jagat scoring an unbeaten slow130-ball 95 as Chourjeet (4/35), Robinhood (2/23) and Hilbert (2/42) succeeded in disrupting YWC-P partnerships with ease. Karamchand 83, Bobby Singh 36, Sidarth Singh 16, Rojeeson 14 and Kh Shinoj 10 amassed 200 runs in 28.3 overs with three wickets left in hand.
Mangalsana was the pick of the YWC-P bowlers with the best finish of 2/36.
Karamchand who shone with his bat was adjudged man of the match.
