BJP member's house fired upon

IMPHAL, Nov 14: Unknown miscreants fired several rounds of bullets at the house of BJP Manipur Pradesh secretary Kongkham Bikram at Nagamapal Soram Leirak, Khwai Lalambung Makhong, under Lamphel police station, Imphal West yesterday night.
Strongly condemning the incident, people of the locality held a sit-in protest today.
According to family members of the State BJP leader, the incident happened at around 10.18 pm yesterday.
Unknown persons in a red car fired several rounds of bullets and fled the area, said Kongkham ongbi Geeta.
While no one was hurt, the firing damaged the residential gate, a car and parts of the house.
At the sit-in staged at Khwai Lalambung Makhong Pukhri Achouba today, the locals condemned the incident in the strongest terms and said it has caused fear psychosis among the people.
Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the bullets could've struck and killed innocent men, women and children. All groups and individuals concerned should refrain from committing such acts in the future which may put lives of innocent people at risk, said the protesters.
They urged the groups, individuals concerned to claim responsibility of the incident and inform the people the reason for their unwarranted actions.
