Manipur crowned champions of 29th National Sub-Junior and Senior Thang-Ta Championships

IMPHAL, Nov 29 : Manipur were crowned champions of the 29th National Sub-Junior and Senior Thang-Ta Champion-ships which was hosted by Jharkhand Thang-Ta Federation under the aegis of Thang-Ta Federation of India at Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Mega Sports Complex, Khel Gaon, Hotwar, Ranchi from November 24 to 26.
Manipur secured as many as 41 gold, 10 silver and 5 bronze medals (287.3 points) to finish on top of the competition which was participated by 302 male and 247 female athletes from 21 State units.
Jammu and Kashmir finished first runners up with 12 gold, 18 silver and 27 bronze medals (145.8 points) while Assam finished second runners up with 146 points on the back of  14 gold, 17 silver and 17 bronze medals.
The State team were led by Laishram Rahulkumar as team coach and Laithangbam Chandramani as manager. Nongthombam Noren and Arambam Kadamba were assistant team coach and manager respectively apart from women's team coach Naorem Devajit and assistant team coach Moirangthem Kunjaraj.
