ASF epicentres

IMPHAL, Nov 6: Following confirmation of more cases of African Swine Fever (ASF), piggery farms of T Rishikanta of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, Laishram Leibaklei of Top Khongnang Makhong, Y Suraj of Top Mayai Leikai, W Ibetombi of Kangla Sangomsang, Sanasam Kiranbala and Achom Roshan of Kangu Chingjin Khunou, Soibam Maniton of Arapti Awang Leikai and L Robindro of Yairipok have been declared as epicentres of ASF.
Imphal East DC Khumanthem Diana issued a notification to this effect today.
These epicentres and areas within 10 Km radius of each epicentre have also been declared as controlled areas for ASF with immediate effect.
Areas within 1 Km radius of the epicentres have been notified as infected zones while areas within 10 Km radius of the epicentres have been notified as surveillance zones.
The same notification has also prohibited movement of pigs (dead or alive) within the controlled areas as well as movement and sale of pork and feed within the infected zones.
