IMPHAL, Dec 11 : The Directorate of Health Services, Government of Manipur today organised a 1-day free medical camp at the relief camp opened in Laphupat Tera High School.
The medical camp was conducted under the supervision of MANIDCO Chairman and Mayang Imphal AC MLA Kongkham Robindro.
A medical team including specialist doctors from various departments such as Eye, ENT, General Surgery, General Medicine, Gynaecology and Sonography (ultrasound) provided free consultations and medicines to the patients during the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Kongkham Robindro said that the medical camp was conducted with the aim to keep the conflict survivors staying in the relief camp fit & healthy.
Seeking public support, he conveyed that the Government has been making efforts to end the conflict and restore peace & normalcy in Manipur at the earliest.
Later, the MANIDCO Chairman along with ADC Mayang Imphal, L Ashakumar and her staff also distributed tracksuits to children staying in the relief camp.
Meanwhile, as a part of its Annual Community Contact & Extension Programme, DM College of Teacher Education (DMCTE), Imphal today distributed winter clothes to the conflict survivors staying at the relief camp set up in Phayeng High School.
Teachers, trainees and non-teaching staff of DMCTE took part in the visit to the relief camp which was conducted under the theme, "Ningtham Khudol- Ashagi Yening.
The team of DMCTE also bought the candles, incense sticks and other items made by the displaced victims.
They also prayed for the restoration of peace & harmony in the State.
