Veteran Cricket : YUCC cruise to 62-run victory over SNC

IMPHAL, Dec 16 : YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai secured a huge 62-run over SNC-Sangaiprou in the 7th match of the ongoing 20th MVCA Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.
YUCC racked up a massive total of 205 runs for 7 wickets in allotted 30 overs and restricted SNC to 143 for 5 in the chase for the comprehensive victory today.
After Shibananda and Manikumar added 21 and 25 runs , Somorjit (49 off 38 balls) and Raju (47 off 38 balls) produced an unbeaten 8th wicket stand to take YUCC past the 200 run mark today. The commendable  total came after Th Bishorjit (3/40 in 6 overs) and Ranendrajit (2/26 in 6 overs) had swept the top orders.
Phunindro and Suraj of SNC also chipped in with a wicket apiece before they ended up adding on 143 runs in the chase with YUCC's Tomba applying break with his incredible spell of 6 overs where he fetched three crucial wickets (3/25).
M Ranendrajit 45 and Ng Rajesh 33 were the only two batters who contributed significant scores to SNC's tally.
Somorjit of YUCC who added 49 runs and picked one wicket was adjudged man of the match.
SHADOW will play KCC in the next match tomorrow at the same venue.
