For the first time in Manipur under the aegis of Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), the Imphal Obstetric & Gynaecological Society (IOGS) today organised a three day long 'FOGSI East Zonal Conference with YUVA 2023' at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal .
On the first day of FOGSI Conference, workshops were conducted on "Research Training for doctors students" at Jubilee Conference Hall, RIMS, Imphal; on "KeyHole surgery in women" at ACME Hospital, Imphal and on "Preventive Oncology for women" at JNIMS Hospital, Imphal, said a release issued by RIMS.
A training on "Life Saving Skills in the Medical Management of PPH for Obgyns" initiated by Safe Motherhood Committee (FOGSI) in collaboration with Maternal and Perinatal Committee (SAFOG) was also held at Sushruta Hall, RIMS, Imphal.
The workshop sessions were inaugurated by Dr Rishikesh Pai, president FOGSI Mumbai; Dr Alka Pandey, vice president (East) FOGSI Patna and Dr Madhuri Patel, secretary general FOGSI Mumbai.
Dr Rameswar Singh, HOD, Obstetrics & Gynaecology; Dr RK Praneshwari Devi, Professor Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology; Dr K Pratima Devi, asst. Prof. Dept. of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr. L. Trinity Meetei, Asst Professor Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology; staff and students also attended the inaugural session of the workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Pratima Devi stated that to reduce the mortality and morbidity for maternal women, training is highly needed for Gynaecologist doctors in the management of PPH for obgyns so that they can protect and serve the women of the State better.
Dr Rishikesh Pai mentioned that the society has crossed over 60 plus years having a total of 270 societies with 41,000 members.
