BISHNUPUR, Dec 23: A pension cards distribution programme for Chief Minister's Widow Pension Scheme (CMWPS) and Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme was held today at Moirang Khunou Makha Leikai relief camp.
The pension card distribution programme was organized by the District Social Welfare Office, Bishnupur for the new beneficiaries particularly the internally displaced persons (IDPs) taking refuge at 16 relief camps in Thanga AC.
Thanga Assembly Constituency MLA, Tongbram Robindro Singh and M Jotish of the District Social Welfare Office, Bishnupur graced as the presidium members of the programme.
During the programme, the MLA distributed pension cards to 12 widows and 58 elderly persons.
Speaking at the event, the MLA highlighted the Government's unwavering efforts, led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, to find a lasting solution to the ongoing conflict and restore peace and normalcy in Manipur at the earliest.
T Robindro Singh also appealed to the public for patience and urged them to refrain from violence and provide cooperation to the Government's initiative to bring back peace and harmony in the State.
Notably, the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme and Chief Minister's Widow Pension Scheme (CMWPS) have extended crucial support to beneficiaries during the months of October to December, providing essential financial assistance during this period of need.
