IMPHAL, Dec 24 : The closing function of the intensive training course on "Manipuri dance" organised by Dance Drama Music Repertoire Union Manipur was held today at the auditorium of JN Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA), Imphal.
Additionally, a book titled, "Gostha Leela Manipur" written by Ranjit Adhikarimayum was also released.
The intensive training was conducted under the sponsorship of Chief Ministergi Artistesinggi Tengbang (CMAT ), Department of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur.
The closing function was attended by Chorus Repertory Theatre chairman Ratan Thiyam and Art & Culture Manipur, Director, K Dinamani Singh as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Ratan Thiyam opined that the State Government should initiate a big project or schemes for the artists of Manipur instead of providing funds under CMAT like distributing relief for flood or other natural disasters.
He also asserted that the name itself 'Chief Ministergi Artistesinggi Tengbang' looks like a relief fund provided by the CM for the artists of Manipur.
Ratan Thiyam also expressed his concern for the current state of Manipur's art & culture and called for collective effort to address the problems and promote them.
