National Boxing C'ship TS Marina, Th Ojibala advance into quarters

IMPHAL, Dec 24 : Tubur Sampar Marina and Thounaojam Ojibala also advanced to the quarter finals of the ongoing 7th National Women's Boxing Championship after Maibam Rosemary and Th Alena booked their quarter final berths yesterday.
Tubur Sampar Marina, representing Manipur in the 48 kg category competition of the championship hosted by UP in Greater Noida, outlasted Manchen of Nagaland 5-0 for a place in the quarter finals today.
Th Ojibala in the meantime earned the 52 kg category quarter final ticket with a comfortable 5-0 beating of Chandigarh's Soniya today.
Sagolshem Bijeta however suffered a second round defeat to Assam's in the 54 kg category competition.
Yesterday M Rosemary outclassed Purabi Karmakar of Bengal 5-0 to earn a place in the quarter finals while Th Alena secured a comfortable 5-0 second round win over Riya of Delhi to confirm a quarter final round berth in 66 kg category competition.
